2 Notes to self….

1. Don’t comment on games until you have seen the DVD!!!
2. Refrain from writing my blog until the following day after a game!

That refers to the Leeds game. After watching it on Wednesday night, my opinion has been modified. Not surprisingly as it was based on heresy and radio commentary. There real signs of a different brand of rugby being played by Worcester and when the get it right, like in the last 15, 20 minutes of the Leeds game, they are quite something to watch. Just need to get it right for more of the game. Speaking of that…

On Saturday it was off to the Tigers lair…Otherwise known as Welford Road. The Leicester Tigers ground is always as good place to visit, The Warriors have come close in the past to upsetting the Tigers faithful and could have done so on Saturday. But the spectre of break away tries that has haunted the Warriors this season paid a visit to Welford Road too. Olie Smith was gifted a try from re-start and that gave the home side the margin they need for comfort.

After the game it was quickly on the coach to Worcester to get back in time to watch the World Cup Final. Who would have thought that England would make that far??? It was an amazing resurgence that was of fairy tale proportions, but the story book ending was not to be. The ruthless Boks just absorbed all that England threw at them, and found England out.

Some have said that if England had won it would have been bad for the game but, as with everything, variety is the spice of life and teams have to play to their strengths. Which is not what New Zealand, France, Ireland and Australia managed to do. England and Argentina did and they had the most successful World Cup bar the Boks.
