Friday Night Rugby at Sixways is the best.

Friday Night rugby at Sixways is my favourite sort. Just the best atmosphere with a sell out crowd, and the fact that The Warriors were playing Sale Sharks, my “other” team made for a really good night. Bar the result of course. The scoreline reflected the quality of the visiting team, but the Warriors are showing some real improvement all around the team which WILL show dividends very soon I am sure of it.

The Warriors have really taken to the new coaching regime and you can see that they all have bought into what they are being asked to do. There one or two who have changed their game a great deal and shown real improvement as a result. The boys stood up to one of the best line ups the Premiership can offer and it all bodes well for the prospect of furthering The Warriors Premiership status.

I have a bit of a confession to make that on Friday night I participated in some blatant player stalking. Shocking I know, but the one player I have wanted to meet for over 2 years, Mark Cueto, was playing for the Sharks on Friday and I went out of my way to make sure that this visit I would meet him. I can report total success on this mission. He was sought out and “ambushed” on his way to the Sharks coach after the game, he very graciously acquiesced to having his photo taken with me and quite a few other fans lurking the same spot. He wasn’t alone either… I got to talk to quite a few of the Sale players who were more than happy to chat to us.

That is my quota of planned player ambushing for the season. The ones I sometimes get to speak to in the Supporters bar don’t count as stalking in my book.

Not much rugby for Worcester for the next couple of weeks. Good luck to the ‘A’ team in the Guinness A league on Monday night, away at Northampton. They go to meet the league leaders as the team in second place, so a win would be very very good…. Go get em!!!
