CHILDREN had to be evacuated from a Worcester primary school after smoke was seen coming from the building.

The pupils at St Clement’s C E Primary in Henwick Road, Worcester, were immediately evacuated when teachers raised the alarm.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service sent two appliances from Worcester to the scene at 9am on Tuesday and the source of smoke was a faulty light bulb.

Rachel Bishop, school administrator, said: “I think the children enjoyed a bit of excitement first thing in the morning.”
