NEW premiership football kit bearing the logo of Worcester’s children's hospice has been unveiled by football stars.

Aston Villa Football Club has agreed a unique partnership with Acorns Children's Hospice and now the charity’s logo will appear on the players shirts.

The official strip was unveiled yesterday in Birmingham, and the hospice’s chief executive, David Strudley, said he hoped the partnership will make more people aware of the work they do.

Mr Strudley said: “Acorns is desperately trying to raise the funds it needs to support the children we currently care for but at the same time we know there are more than 1,000 children across our region who need our help.

“We must make more people aware of our work and this urgent need to help these very sick children and young people.

“This ground-breaking partnership between two like-minded organisations who share the same values is a great way for us to open more doors.

“We hope it will encourage more businesses to put their thinking caps on and approach us with other ways in which they can help and offer support.”

The charity, which has a hospice in Bath Road, Worcester, supports children with life-limiting and their families.

What a terrific decision by both parties! Well done Acorns and good luck to Villa. My lads will be wearing their shirts with pride!
