AMONG those affected by the flood, was your Worcester News.
Editor Kevin Ward said: "Our job was to give our readers as much information as we could about the emergency. We did this in print and online and it was a magnificent effort from our staff.
"We were working throughout the weekend of July 20, 21 and 22 last year against a backdrop of fear that our own building on Hylton Road would flood.
"We were spared by a matter of inches. But we also had to cope with finding hotel rooms for staff who could not get home and then operating without some people who simply could not get in to work. Some of our staff had their own homes flooded.
"What we produced over those three days was first-class. Local people were desperate for information and we were able to provide it despite our own troubles and I am very proud of that."
