CHEMICAL experts were called to a coffin making company in Worcestershire last night.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were initially sent to a sawdust fire at Vowles coffin makers, Longdon Heath, Upton-upon-Severn, at 10pm. The crew requested back up when they discovered a chemical - a wood resin - was also involved.
A hazardous material officer and chemical experts from Droitwich, along with an extra crew, arrived to investigate further. By 11.30pm, the fire was extinguished. Nobody was hurt.
