DAREDEVILS are being sought to abseil down a Worcester shop for a charity next month.
The city’s mayor Lucy Hodgson will be taking part in the event down the side of the Debenhams store on High Street to help raise money for the Noah’s Ark Trust.
More people are wanted to join the 30 other brave fund-raisers who are helping the charity provide a free support service for bereaved children in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Mrs Hodgson said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to take part in this event.
“I am really looking forward to following in the footsteps of my predecessor, Ian Imray, by abseiling down the side of Debenhams. This is an excellent way to raise funds for such a worthy cause.”
People wishing to take part need to raise sponsorship of at least £50.
Hayley Fowler, marketing and communications co-coordinator for Noah's Ark Trust, said: “The Ark Abseil is open to everybody aged 18 and over.
“This is a great opportunity to conquer your fear of heights, practise your abseiling technique or just have a go and raise much-needed funds for Noah’s Ark Trust.”
The event takes place on Saturday, September 6, from 11am until 4pm.
Currently the trust is working closely with your Worcester News as they are looking for a home within the heart of the community that it can rent at a peppercorn rate.
If you would like to help raise money by taking part in the abseil to help the charity continue providing its vital free service for children across the two counties, or if you have a property the Trust could use contact Hayley Fowler on 01905 745735 or e-mail hayley.f@noahsarktrust.co.uk
