Body found in city park

A body has been found in Cripplegate Park, St John's, Worcester.

A member of the park staff found the unidentified male on a park bench this morning.

Police were called to the scene at 11.25am.

The body, which is currently covered by a white sheet, is on a bench close to the tennis courts.

The area has been cordoned off by police.

DS Stuart Murphy, of South Worcestershire Police, said: "We don't know who he is at the moment.

"We are waiting for the police surgeon. Once he has had a look, we can decide what to do next."
