THERE is a new principal at Worcester’s prestigious Elgar School of Music.

Dr Donald Hunt has stepped aside as head of the Deansway school and handed the mantle to Gill Lumsdon, previously the school’s administrative head.

Mrs Lumsdon will take full responsibility as principal, while Dr Hunt will act as musical advisor.

The change comes as the new school term starts. This year there is an extra emphasis on enthusing youngsters.

On Monday afternoons children aged two to four can attend the Mini-Music Makers Club, a fun course that will introduce them to music, while the Junior String Group, is a class children who have just started learning to play a stringed instrument.

To book a free trial session and find out full details call the school on 01905 28613.
