FLASH flooding hit a Worcestershire town today.

As rain thrashed down Market Street and Church Street in Tenbury Wells were briefly submerged.

Last year's mayor Phil Grove said shops and businesses were not affected, although the two roads were shut off for a short while.

Coun Grove said: “It was just the volume of water that came down. The drains weren’t able to cope but as soon as the rain stopped the water was gone.

“There’s still a bit of water on Church Street but nobody has been affected as far as I know.”
