Cheers! Here’s to our pub's entry in the drinkers' bible

SEVERAL new pubs in Worcestershire have made it into the latest edition of the real ale drinkers' bible.

The Campaign For Real Ale Good Beer Guide 2009 was unveiled today with 10 new county pubs joining the 4,500 best real ale pubs in the country.

They are:

  • The Four Winds, Belbroughton
  • The Anchor Inn, Caunsall
  • Bramley Cottage, Redditch
  • The Golden Cross, Bromsgrove
  • The Colliers Arms, Clows Top
  • Live and Let Live Inn, Cutnall Green
  • Fox Inn, Hanley Broadheath
  • Walter de Cantelupe Inn, Kempsey v Railway Inn, Ripple
  • The Bell Inn, St John’s, Worcester
  • The independent guide contains 387 pubs and 75 breweries from throughout the West Midlands region, including Worcestershire, voted by CAMRA members.

Martin Lloyd-Morris, owner of the Walter De Cantelupe Inn, said: “We’ve been recognised as serving very good beer.

“We have three permanent real ales and a guest ale, but in November we’re holding an election to change one of our permanent beers.

“British beer is on the crest of a wave at the moment, which is great news for brewers and pubs like us.”

The pub serves ales from the Cannon Royall brewery, Uphampton; Wye Valley brewery, Herefordshire; and the Timothy Tailor Brewery, Yorkshire.
