THE president was solely in charge at our September meeting as both secretary and treasurer were unable to be there. However, Leigh kindly offered to write the minutes to help out.
The August barbecue at Debbie’s home had been a great success with a lovely fine evening.
The minutes and apologies were read out and we were all sorry to hear of the hospital spell for Iris and sent her our best wishes.
Names were taken of those wishing to attend the group meeting at Kempsey in October.
We had borrowed a curling set from Hallow WI and had a great time while we all had a go. Janet Allbutt caused great hilarity as she busily brushed the floor with her grandchild’s small broom.
The competition for a wooden object was won by Elsie with a charming wooden animal.
Refreshment were provided by Avril and Pat and the raffle was drawn.
Next meeting is our annual which will be followed by a social evening.
We meet the third Tuesday each month at 7.30pm at Whittington Village Hall. New members and visitors can always expect a warm welcome.
