YOUNG musicians will perform before the critical eyes and ears of renowned cellist Julian Lloyd Webber in Worcester.

As president of the city’s Elgar School of Music in Deansway, Lloyd Webber will listen to students of the music school and give them advice on how to improve, when they play at Huntingdon Hall in CrownGate, Worcester, on Tuesday.

The children due to perform include singer Georgia Francis and violinist Dayna Townsend, who were both awarded scholarships to study at the school earlier this year, cellist Edward Kimberley, oboe player Kathryn Gasic, and flautist Ruth Cumisky who, at the specific request of Lloyd Webber, will play a piece composed by his father William Lloyd Webber.

The school’s enthusiastic cello orchestra are also involved and will perform a special arrangement of Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s I Don’t Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar.

For tickets to an Evening with Julian Lloyd Webber, priced £15, call Worcester Live on 01905 611427.
