A RECORD 24 employees at Hereford company Cargill Meats Europe, formerly Sun Valley, have joined the famous 25-year club, each having worked for the firm for a quarter of a century or more.
The new members have racked up 600 years service between them and they were rewarded at Hereford Racecourse.
CME employs more than 1,600 people from across the region and has always had an outstanding staff retention record. This year, the company’s internal engagement survey has again shown a further increase in staff motivation as new initiatives for improvements to the work environment are constantly added to the agenda. As such, the 2008 25-year club has welcomed more new members than ever before.
Richard Maxfield, managing director, said: “Employees are the lifeblood of our company. We do everything that we can to keep them motivated and happy. Every single one of them plays an integral part in the business and we make sure we recognise individual contributions as often as we can.”
New additions to the 25-year club for 2008 were Liz Jellie, Simon Oliver, Bryan Atkinson, Steven Cardone, Mavis Dyke, Dane Harris, Simon Baker, Paul Southall, Nigel Dukes, Neil Gwynne, Clive Mills, Simon Husbands, Alec James, Roger Price, David Benbow, Stephen Taylor, Christopher Colcombe, Stephen Griffiths, Brian Davies, Terence Higgins, Leslie Bond, Gerald Goby, Raymond Clark and Hazel Jenkins.
