BUDDING artists will have a chance to test their talents in Big Draw events.

The Greyfriars, Friar Street, is hosting drawing fun for all the family this weekend.

The National Trust property is staging the Big Draw Archaeology and Art event on Saturday between 1pm and 4.30pm. Artists can spend all afternoon painting or drawing in the beautiful walled garden.

Rachel Bannon, The Greyfriars custodian, said: “Whether you are a keen artist or a total beginner, the day is designed to bring out everybody’s artistic talents.”

Archaeological finds will be on hand to inspire visitors and archaeological illustrator Laura Templeton will be talking about her work.

Meanwhile, the blue-ginger gallery in Cradley is holding a Pets On A Postcard drawing competition as part of the Big Draw. All entries must be sent in by Sunday.

The judges’ favourite entries will be framed and will be on display from Wednesday to Friday next week.

There will also be an auction of drawings by professional artists in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice in Worcester. For more details, visit blue-ginger.com.
