WORCESTER Warrior Dale Rasmussen has been encouraging young boys to read as part of a national initiative. The centre dropped in at Cranham Primary School in the city on Wednesday to spend time with boys in years four, five and six.

He read a story called ‘Girls are Scary’ to the pupils as part of the Department of Children, Schools and Families’ project called Boys into Books. Gareth Morgan, deputy headteacher at the school, said: “The initiative aims to get more boys in to reading and we were delighted that Dale was able to come and read to the boys and show them that it is certainly not just for girls. The pupils responded very well to him and I’m sure it will inspire some of them.”
