CHART-topping pop band McFly have inspired a Worcestershire teenager to try and raise £2,000 for charity in a gig on Sunday.

Jessica Moseley, a self-confessed McFly addict, decided to organised a fund-raising gig in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust after she met her musical heroes in person.

The 14-year-old, of Kidderminster helped host a similar gig – where live acts covered McFly songs – in Manchester earlier this year after the band’s drummer, Harry Judd, ran the London Marathon in aid of the teenage cancer charity.

Holy Trinity High School student Jessica then met the band to present them with a cheque for £400.

"I have loved McFly since they released their first album over four years ago,” said Jessica. “I used to drag my dad all over the country to see their gigs and meet them at signings.

“What I love about them is that not only are they a brill band live, but they are so nice when you meet them. They know that the fans are their business.”

The latest fund-raiser will be held at the Marr’s Bar, in Pierpoint Street, Worcester, from 2pm on Sunday. Jessica, with the help from friend and fellow fan 16-year-old Jade Brooks, of Birmingham, has arranged for unsigned bands to perform more than 30 different McFly tracks.

“It has been hard work, but very rewarding and we know that the money is going to a good cause,” she said. “Also, McFly love us for it, which makes the hard work all worth while.”
