The safari Illuminations at West Midland Safari Park are being switched on every evening from Friday to Sunday to co-incide with half-term. There are more than 100 glowing animals and a new glow in the dark alien puppet show. Gates open at 5.30pm for safari Illuminations. Lights will be switched on at sunset. Last admission is at 8pm and amusement rides close at 9pm. The animal reserves will be closed throughout the event. Admission to Illuminations costs £5 per person. Children under three years are admitted free. Amusement rides extra. A multi-ride wristband costs £7.50 per person.

More than 1,700 pumpkins for special hands-on pumpkin workshops every day from Monday to Friday from 11am-4pm. Children will be able to don an apron and scoop out a pumpkin ready for a Webbs’ staff member to carve a Halloween face. Tickets are £4 per child to include a pumpkin and battery tea light. Tickets can be bought on the day. For outdoor fun, a trail of hidden halloween pictures will lead youngsters on a path of discovery through the Riverside Gardens (10am-5pm). Other activities include free entertainment from Professor Pepperpot between 1pm and 4pm, face painting and fair rides, both with a small charge.
