A MOTHER who was banned from driving has been given another disqualification after being caught behind the wheel.

Victoria Evans told police she was unaware of the 12-month ban she was given in December last year.

When they spotted her driving with her nine-year-old daughter, police also discovered she was driving with no insurance.

Evans, 27, of Hipkiss Gardens, Droitwich, admitted driving whilst disqualified and driving with no insurance when she appeared at the city’s magistrates court.

The offences put her in breach of a 12-month conditional discharge imposed in November last year for verbally abusing a supermarket security officer.

Rob MacRory, defending, said Evans, who has a drug problem, would welcome assistance from the probation service.

“She clearly needs to get rid of this drug problem,” he said.

Evans was sentenced to a 12-month community order with a supervision requirement and a nine-month drug rehabilitation programme.

She was also banned from driving for 12 months and fined £100, ordered to pay £60 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

These will be added to the £1,267 of outstanding fines the woman has.
