A CHARITY fund-raising sale is to be held in the memory of two Malvern women from the same family who died from cancer.

Julie Philpotts is organising the event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and as a memorial to her sister-in-law Dot Crease, who worked at the Morgan car factory, and her mother-in-law Doris Baxendale, who settled in Malvern during the Second World War.

They both died of cancer and received support from Macmillan nurses.

The sale at Malvern Bowling Club off Victoria Park, Malvern Link, on Saturday November 22 will be held between 9am and 5pm.

It will include both new and seond-hand ladies clothes, men’s clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories, make up, toiletries, jewellery and bric-a-brac.

There will be refreshments throughout the day and many local businesses have donated items for sale and to be raffled.

Mrs Philpotts said: “Macmillan nurses were there all the time and they did a great job. We thought we wanted to do this as a thank you. There are some lovely bargains.”
