MORE than 30 businesses in Malvern have entered this year’s Christmas window dressing competition to add some extra festive spirit to the season.

The competition, organised by Malvern Town Council, is being judged today by muscian and children’s song-writer and puppet show performer Michael Absalom with chairman of the town council Caroline Bovey.

Town council events officer Lyndsey Davies said businesses from Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Link Top and Barnards Green have entered the contest which has a Panto theme this year.

She said although the judging and prize-giving would take place this afternoon, traders would keep their windows dressed for up to two weeks so shoppers and visitors would be able to see them.

“The theme for the window competition was Panto and marks are given for creativity and design. We have had really generous gifts this year from Waitrose, Somerfield, Malvern Spa Hotel and Restaurant, M&S and Belle Vue Delicatessen,” she said.
