Two childhood friends from Worcester have been recognised after both scoring top grades in their health and social care exams.

Ellie Hobday and Verity Gwilliam have been friends since they were toddlers. They attended Oldbury Park Primary School and Christopher Whitehead Language College before Worcester Sixth Form College. This summer the 17-year-olds sat AS-level health and social care, in which Verity gained the highest grade out of 1,643 students in the double award and Ellie gained the highest grade out of 3,621 students in the single award. The girls were presented with certificates by college principal Michael Kitcatt.
