BABIES from Herefordshire are enjoying free memberships to the county’s Courtyard art centre.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary the Courtyard, in Edgar Street, Hereford, has teamed up with Herefordshire Primary Care Trust to offer every child that was born during its birthday month – September 2008 – membership to the 21 Year Club.
Babies whose parents signed up will get free tickets to almost all Courtyard shows, films and events for the next 21 years.
Courtyard chief executive Martyn Green said: “There is a lot of research which shows that children and young people benefit enormously from watching and taking part in arts and cultural activities.
“We really hope that this flagship scheme will be a fantastic way for these children to develop a lifelong love of the arts.
“As far as we know, this is the only anniversary scheme of its kind in the country.
“It is fantastic that so many Herefordshire parents have signed up to support it.”
