MALVERN singer songwriter Sam Isaac is to host a new club night in Worcester. The pop aficionado and bandmate Burt Hill want to bring bands from across the UK to his home county with the Sorry About My Golf Clubs night, which start next week with a Christmas launch.

“I have spent the past two years on the road playing shows and getting to see some really great bands from all over the country,”

said Isaac, whose DIY approach to making music has impressed and led him to perform at Glastonbury and Latitude festivals, as well as airplay on Radio 1 and appearances on MTV2.

“I’m really excited about bringing some of these great bands to Worcester.

“The Marr’s Bar is a fantastic venue and I want to help put it on the map as a venue on the cutting edge of new music.

“Hopefully, some of the bands we’ll be bringing to the Marr’s Bar will soon be household names.”

As well as showcasing national touring acts, Sorry About My Golf Clubs will also support up-andcoming local bands.

Headlining the festive launch night on Friday, December 19, will be 18- year-old singer-songwriter Dan Scotty from Worcester.

Influenced by Brand New, New Found Glory and Taking Back Sunday, Isaac believes Scotty is set to be the next big thing to come out of Worcester.

He is currently taking part in Channel 4’s Orange Unsigned Act and recently made it through to the national finals. He has been consistently impressing judges Kelly Osbourne and Blur’s Alex James, who described Scotty as “brilliant, vulnerable and heartfelt”.

Support will come in the form of Worcester band Tall Ships, Malvern’s the Fallout Theory and local singersongwriter Dale Tomkins.

Entry is strictly 16 years plus and doors open at 8pm.

Tickets, priced £5, are available in advance from wegottickets.com.
