TAKE time out from the hassles of the high street this Christmas by taking a step back in time at the Greyfriars in Worcester.

The timber-framed merchant’s house on Friar Street is open and decorated for Christmas today and everyone is welcome to stop in for a visit.

Visitors will be able to take a break from their Christmas shopping and enjoy the festive finery with garlands hung up around the house and a huge dressed tree.

Younger visitors can also enjoy festive hands-on activities in the family room.

Rachel Bannon, property custodian, said: “Come and take a break from the stresses of Christmas shopping and enjoy the festive tranquillity.”

“The house looks magical decorated for Christmas, with garlands on the beams and the beautiful Christmas tree.”

The house is open from 1pm to 4pm with last admission at 3.30pm. Normal admission to the house applies to all Christmas opening.
