ALMOST 70 businesses have joined forces in Ledbury to make next week’s mediaeval Christmas evening a success.

Annette Crowe, chairman of the Traders of Ledbury Association, said: “If the evening goes as well as we hope, and the traders are happy, it will become an annual event for the town.”

Festivities will start at 5pm on Thursday, with attractions including fire-eating under the Market House and jugglers and minstrels.

There will be music from both the Ledbury Choral Society and Ledbury Community Choir.

Children will be able to try on mediaeval armour in the Homend. The scale of public response can be measured by the demand for raffle tickets. From Monday, December 1, members of the association have been giving tickets to anyone who spends a certain amount in their stores.
