THE world’s biggest wildlife survey will see Worcestershire people of all ages look to their gardens this weekend.

Up to half a million people are expected to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, which will help reveal what effect changing weather has on our birds.

Here in Worcestershire, participants will peer through binoculars and count the number of bird species that land in gardens and parks, then upload their results onto the internet.

At Perdiswell Primary School, Bilford Road, Worcester, pupils will hold their own Big School Birdwatch on Wednesday.

Wildlife-loving students will spend the day recording birds and take a sneak peak inside a bird box. Organiser Peter Jones said: “We’re an eco-school and as part of that we’ve put bird boxes up around the school grounds.

“We’ve also got a box with a camera in it so children can see the eggs hatch and watch the baby birds growing.”
