A STRANGE light was spotted in the night’s sky above Worcestershire.

Jean Barford of Holt Heath, near Worcester, said a light in the shape of a champagne glass shone brightly between 8pm and 9pm last night.

Mrs Harford, aged 73, whose husband Edward, aged 75, also saw the light, said she did not take any pictures of it because she does not have a camera.

“I thought it was a plane at first but it didn’t move,” she said. “I studied it more closely and it was like an oblong object with a lot of flashing lights. It had a greenish tinge to it at the bottom and a faint pink tinge at the top. It was there for about an hour without moving.”

Mrs Harford, who has lived in Holt Heath for about 10 years, said the strange light interested her so much she even braved the cold weather to go outside and get a better look.

“We are on a flightpath but this wasn’t a plane,” she said. “I went outside because I thought it might be a helicopter but it was the wrong shape and had too many lights on it - it was like something you’d see on a fairground.

“There was no sound.

“I hadn’t had a drink and I don’t believe in these things, but now that I’ve seen it myself I do believe.”

We previously reported in your Worcester News how a family in Droitwich spotted and filmed a UFO on Sunday, August 24 last year.

Steve Weeks, of Brantwood Road, said both he and other members of his family saw a series of fairly large bright orange lights which made no noise before they faded into the distance.
