WE met slightly earlier for our January meeting, which was held at the March Hare.

We enjoyed a lovely meal together, finishing with chocolate mints brought by Rosemary Wilmore.

Not much business was discussed but an invitation was read out from Whittington WI to their 70th birthday meeting in February and the newsletters were distributed.

A few members had brought ‘a bird’ for the competition and this was won by Jean with an ornate beaded owl.

A few members paid their subscriptions, with the others being reminded that £29 was due for 2009. We had each brought a gift to put in Santa’s sack and therefore each received one back again with great interest being shown in the assortment of gifts.

We finally finished our meeting at 9.15pm.

We next meet back at Whittington Village Hall on Tuesday, February 17, at 7.30pm when Mr Albutt is speaking about stained glass windows. Visitors and any new members will be given a very warm welcome
