A NEW business is hoping to help kick start the beleaguered property market.

Blackstar Property, the brain-child of Mark Medlicott, is offering purchasers the ability to buy new-build property at discounted prices.

The Droitwich-based consultancy hopes to help everyone from first-time buyers to experienced buy-to-let investors.

“Blackstar Property is working with property developers to create opportunities to buy property at discounted values,” Mr Medlicott said.

“By approaching our contacts with offers for individual units in conjunction with larger bulk purchases, we are able to help people obtain a discount on their chosen property. We will also attempt to get other improved terms, such as developers’ contributions towards deposits, developers’ contributions towards fees, mortgage subsidies, part exchange or free furnishings.

“As far as property prices go, it is possible to acquire certain new build property at greater than 40 per cent discount to what neighbouring properties may have been sold for 18 to 24 months ago.

“For those looking to make multiple investment purchases, the discounts that we may be able to negotiate may be greater still and so the current times present excellent opportunities for those looking to move from the rental sector, move home, or expand investment portfolios.”

The firm also pledges to make a donation to The Macular Disease Society and Cancer Research UK based on the number of properties sold.
