Music gig will be welcome relief

A GROUP of musicians will take to the stage to raise cash for Comic Relief.

The performers, well-known in Worcestershire’s music scene, will host a one-off fund-raising gig at Bowl Xtreme, Perdiswell, Worcester, on Friday, March 13.

Singer Mike Skilbeck hopes to raise at least £1,000.

He said: “It only £5 to get in and every penny will go to Comic Relief.

“We all wanted to do something for the charity and we’re all musicians so it just made sense to do this.”

The Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Lucy Hodgson, will attend and help judge a competition for the best Red Nose Day photo.

The live acts, including The Midnight Movers, Young Gifted Liars, Killa Heels and Heroes Of Hanoi, have agreed to provide their services free of charge.

For tickets call Mr Skillbeck on 07938 909083 or Harry Baldwin on 07901 510219.

  • This year Comic Relief is urging the public to ‘do something funny to raise money’, whether that is jumping in a bath of baked beans or having a non uniform day at school or work.

Perhaps the mayor can wear a red nose now they've taken her chain of office away?
