THERE was an excellent attendance at our meeting on Monday, March 16, and we were treated to an inspiring talk by Patricia Eley on her work as a Methodist medical missionary in Madras.
This area in the south-east of India was her training ground and she recalled from her diaries written at that time some of her adventures and experiences among the people living there. There was poverty but also hope and she soon established a loving relationship with them.
We all hoped that she would come to speak to us again – it was obvious she had much more stored in her book of memories.
We meet this month on Monday, May 18, at 7.30pm in the Poplars, Chequers Lane.
