THE April meeting at the Poplars, Chequers Lane, was a jolly and informal meeting, the highlight of which was tackling a quiz compiled by Annie Brown’s husband John, which contained a trick question which floored us all.
In May, Sue and Phil Pugh celebrated their ruby wedding and hosted a party with all the trimmings for their countless friends. Thank you, Sue and Phil, for a memorable evening.
On Wednesday, May 13, about 50 women assembled in St Godwald’s Church, Finstall, for the annual gathering of church fellowships in the diocese.
The fellowship there was the host and the service was led by Janet Hewer, reader.
A tea was provided in the parish hall afterwards by the women of St Godwald’s. There followed reports from some of the fellowships of their activities during the past year, proving that fellowship and fun are still good team-mates.
Next year’s hosts will be ourselves, Wychbold Women’s Fellowship, in St Mary de Wyche Church.
Two meetings of the Wychbold Flower Club: April – In The Potting Shed with Anna Brian who really did get her hands in the soil on the demonstration table. She planted her pots with bulbs and plants with the utmost ease while continuing to look the height of elegance.
May – Flowers With Flair by Hazel Rudge. A demonstration using foliage and choice flowers in imaginative and arresting combinations of form and colour.
The resulting arrangements were raffled later.
