PUPILS at Madresfield Primary School can now recycle metal and make money for the school thanks to an active parent.
Neil Wright, of the school’s friends association, arranged for Malvern Hills District Council to supply a recycling bin and made contact with scrap dealers.
Now pupils and parents can bring along small metal items, such as cans or metal foil, which can be sold, with the proceeds going to the school.
Head Debbie Langston said: “We’re an eco-school, and we’re already recycling things like paper and clothes. Now we can recycle metal as well.
“In these days, every bit of extra money helps, and we’re lucky to have someone like Mr Wright, who’s more than happy to help us in this way. He’s also said that if people have larger metal items, he’d be willing to take them.”
