SOLDIERS marched through the streets of Worcester to a heroes' welcome today.
Thousands of people lined the city’s roads to welcome back members of The Queen’s Royal Hassars, fresh from the dusty battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Marching in their desert combat uniform, the 150 troopers were accompanied by 32 musicians from the Adjutant General’s Corps and a tracked vehicle.
Worcester’s mayor Andy Roberts said: “I was immensely proud to see them marching past, and looking at the crowd there were plenty of people having to wipe away a tear.
“Thank god those who have come back safe and sound are back with us.”
