Massive mural is painted by pupils

PUPILS from Hanley Castle High School showcased their artistic talents by creating a massive mural on a 30ft stretch of wall beneath Upton-upon-Severn bridge.

The pupils were invited by Upton in Bloom to brighten the area up by creating an eye-catching design based around the theme “local”.

They decided to spell out the word Upton using different objects and symbols that carry a local connection. Eighteen pupils worked on the mural, which they completed in just one day.

Art teacher Kate Callighan said: “Lots of locals came along and had a look and gave us some really positive feedback.”
