7:50pm Wednesday 15th July 2009

A DRIVER from Worcester who was more than three times over the legal limit for alcohol has been banned for two years.

Jason Lake was pulled over by police in Rose Avenue, Tolladine, because they noticed his exhaust was loose.

When they asked the 24-year-old to step out of the car, officers noticed his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet.

A roadside breath test revealed he had 119mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Lake, of Birch Avenue, Tolladine, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Worcester Magistrates Court.

He was sentenced to a 12-month community order and ordered to complete the drink impaired drivers course and 60 hours’ unpaid work.

He was also disqualified from driving for 24 months and ordered to pay £60 costs.
