GORGEOUS girls and a handsome man from Worcester are hoping they will wow the judges and raise the city’s profile as they look to take the Miss and Mr England contests by storm.

Talented teenage singer and dancer Leanne Groutage already bagged her place in Monday’s final when she was crowned Miss Worcester in May.

She will also be joined by Jodi Edwards, who proudly wore the crown and represented the city in the prestigious beauty contest in 2007, after she won a subsidary comeptition.

Meanwhile, Gareth Woods, aged 21, of St John’s, Worcester, is in the running to become the next Mr England and will find out his fate on Monday night.

Miss Edwards, aged 20, topped a public poll in the Miss Fresh Photographic contest and is once again in with a chance of winning the big prize.

“I didn’t really intend on entering again but I am glad I have,” she said. “I am very excited but, as usual, I don’t really have any expectations. I’m just going to meet the girls and have a look around.”

Miss Edwards, a manager with the John Lewis Partnership, said it would be good to have Leanne for company. “I guess we can work alongside each other and put Worcester out there,” she said.

Student Miss Groutage, aged 17, of Holt Heath, said: “Jodi has done it before so she can help me out a bit. The final’s getting closer and I am a bit nervous.”

Both Miss Groutage and Miss Edwards will be taking part in the Miss England final at the London Hylton Metropole but they need your help between now and then in the grand public vote.
