A COUPLE who were caught on CCTV performing sex acts in broad daylight while drunk in Worcester city centre have appeared in court.

Lisa Williams and Joseph Loveridge were seen by members of the public performing the sex acts and exposing themselves.

Worcester Magistrates Court was shown CCTV footage of the pair, filmed after police were alerted by shocked passers-by on Wednesday, July 8.

Matt Dodson, prosecuting, said police were alerted by a member of the public at 5pm.

Another member of the public also called police to say they had seen the couple.

When officers arrived, the couple denied committing sexual acts, but the police noted they were both very drunk, and asked for CCTV operators to keep an eye on them.

About 20 minutes later, Mr Dodson said, another call from a member of the public was received.

Mr Dodson said CCTV cameras captured the pair performing a sexual act.

Police arrested the pair and they were taken to Worcester police station, where Williams was noted to be slurring her words and her eyes were glazed.

When searched, Williams was found with a sex toy and bottles of sexual stimulants, and Loveridge was found to have ladies underwear in his pocket.

Williams, aged 38, of Wilmcote Court, Bromsgrove, and Loveridge, 43, of Austin Road, Bromsgrove, both admitted the charge of outraging public decency.

In mitigation, Mark Sheward said on the day of the offence the couple – both unemployed – were in an early stage of their relationship.

Mr Sheward said Loveridge had had a small win on the lottery, and they had gone out to celebrate in pubs in Worcester.

“They were both very intoxicated,” said Mr Sheward.

Mr Sheward said both had poor recollection of what had happened but were extremely embarrassed by the incident and had not meant for anyone to see them.

Magistrates gave the couple a community penalty for 12 months and ordered them to complete 60 hours of unpaid work. They were each also fined £60.
