BECOMING a dominant force at St George’s Lane is going to play a major part in success for Worcester City this season.

We have got a lot of belief in ourselves as a team and hopefully that will continue and we can have some decent home form this year.

The last three performances against Basingstoke, Staines and Dorchester have been really encouraging although we have only picked up five points out of nine.

Ironically, we created the least amount of chances of the three games against Dorchester on Saturday and ended up winning 4-0.

That means we are three games unbeaten at the Lane and we have probably dominated for around 80 per cent of those matches. Now we have got to do that week in, week out.

It’s something to build on and we have also got the FA Cup coming up later this month so it’s important we are solid at home.

There are a lot of factors why we are not higher in the league at the moment but for a fan, whether Worcester or neutral, I think the last three home games have been pretty good value for money.

The reaction we have had from the fans has been good. I think they know the situation we are in and I have appreciated how they have supported us. When you don’t win games things can get a bit dicy and fans can turn on you, that’s the nature of football, but they are sticking by myself, Carl Heeley and the players.

The supporters have just voted Wayne Daniel, who missed last night’s game through injury, as their player-of-the-month. He is a good personality both on and off the pitch and he wants to win.

We have got some good characters in the back-four and it hurts them all when they concede a goal.

‘Shooter’, as he is known, is an old head in this league. He was in the Conference North for the best part of 10 years with Stafford and that bit of experience helps out Tom Kemp who is improving all the time.

Wayne is an experienced player, along with Mark Clyde and Alfie Carter, and has been a massive addition to our squad. We were really happy to get him.

Some good news on the injury front is that Shabir Khan should be training this time next week and that will be a huge plus.

Kevin Spencer is a few days away from being involved again and goalkeeper Jake Meredith is also on the comeback trail.

The quicker we get our injured players back, the better because we have got a small squad. That said, we have still got some money to spend now Martin Butler has left and we are looking to bring players in.

I am looking for long-term signings as bringing people in for one game isn’t good enough. We have got a few pencilled in but it’s not going to happen overnight.
