A MAN has been left with serious facial injuries after being bottled in an unprovoked attack at a Worcester club.

Worcester police have issued two CCTV still images of a man and woman they want to trace after the man had been hit in the face with an empty bottle.

He received serious injuries and potential permanent scarring.

Officers believe that a substantial number of people would have seen the unprovoked attack between the bar and dancefloor of Bushwackers at around 1.45am on Sunday, August 16.

The victim was treated in the Accident and Emergency Department of the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for serious facial injuries including a broken nose, serious scarring around the mouth and two black eyes. He also lost two teeth.

The alleged attacker is believed to have been with the woman in a white dress during most of the evening. He is described as white, 5ft 8ins tall, of stocky build with short, dark hair and wearing a tight-fitting grey, V-neck jumper.

A police spokesman said: “In addition to the many customers who may have seen the incident itself, we believe there are a number of other people who can identify one – or both – of the people in the pictures through actually knowing them personally, or at least knowing of them.

“While we very much want to hear from anyone who believes they can help in bringing the man to justice, we urge him - and/or the female with him – to contact us when they realise the seriousness of what has taken place,” he added.

Anyone who saw the incident or believes that they can help police identify and trace the couple is urged to call 0300 333, 3000, quoting 99S/160809 and asking for PC Rich Allen, on ext. 3777.
