PARENTS who have lost babies before, during or after birth are invited to a babies’ memorial service in Worcester.

The service will take place at St Peter’s Baptist Church, Eden Close, St Peter’s Drive, on Saturday, October 17, at 2.30pm.

This short, informal remembrance service will include poems and music and an opportunity for parents to light a candle in memory of their baby.

All are welcome whether their loss is recent or many years ago.

The Rev Dr David Southall from the Department of Spiritual and Pastoral Care at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester said: “In my role as Chaplain at the hospital I meet many parents who have experienced the loss of a baby through early or late miscarriage, still birth or neonatal death.

"This annual service offers time for reflection and is open to people of all faiths or none.”

The service is expected to last about an hour after which there will be time to meet other bereaved parents over tea and coffee.
