FOOTBALL fans came close to the ultimate prize when the Barclays Premier League trophy went on show in Worcester.
The shining silverware – flanked by two security guards – went on display at Barclays bank in Worcester High Street on Saturday.
Sports fans of all ages rushed to see the most sought-after prize in English football and have their photographs taken with the trophy that thousands of people dream of lifting above their heads.
Ann Harvey, area manager for Barclays, said: “It’s really exciting having it here in Worcester.
“We’ve seen everybody, from little old ladies to mums and dads with babies, coming in to have their pictures taken.
“It caused a real stir and it’s great for Barclays.”
The Barclays Premier League trophy was on show as part of a week-long event to promote the recently refurbished Worcester branch of the bank.
Customers have enjoyed free giveaways, wine tasting, and a live steel band performance.
