THE trial of five Worcester men accused of sex offences against a teenage girl has been postponed after a defence barrister was unable to attend through illness.
Zafar Hussain, aged 29, of Wyld’s Lane, is charged with rape and sexual activity with a child.
Also accused of sexual activity with a child are: Mohammed Hussain, 22, of Avon Road, Tolladine, Ombur Hussain, 24, of Wyld’s Lane, Majid Hussain, 35, of Birchfield Close, off Merriman’s Hill, and Yasir Saghir, 24, of St George's Lane North, Barbourne.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place in 2006.
Worcester Crown Court heard earlier today that the poorly barrister is suffering from flu-like symptoms.
Judge Patrick Thomas QC adjourned the case until Monday and granted all the defendants bail.
If the barrister has not recovered, he will be replaced to prevent any further delays to the trial.
