A GRASSROOTS campaign to stop climate change will come to Worcester at the weekend.

People all over the world will mark International Day of Action on Saturday, October 24, with climate change campaigners holding hundreds of events to highlight the importance of reducing greenhouse gas.

Members of environmental group Transition Worcester will be in Worcester High Street from 11am to talk about the national 350 campaign, which aims to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere.

Robert Wilkins, leader of Transition Worcester, said: “We need to act fast to help turn things around.

“The good news is that people everywhere are waking up to the problem.

The High Street event will be followed by a free screening of climate change film The Age of Stupid at the Worcester College of Technology, Deansway, at 7.30pm on Monday, October 26.
