BIG-HEARTED fund-raisers have collected cash helping fund a vital breast unit for the county.

A champagne and shopping event billed as ‘serious retail therapy’ was held at The Elms Hotel, in Abberley, raising more than £2,000 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign.

Your Worcester News is backing the campaign to raise £2.5 million for a dedicated Worcestershire Breast Unit that will cut patient waiting times in half.

Stall-holders selling everything from shoes and handbags to stationary and hats gave about 200 shoppers the chance for a little early Christmas present buying.

Event organiser Helen Hogden said the event was a great success.

She said: “We were over-whelmed by the support from our attendees and stall holders, despite hard times, guests were keen to spend on treats and gifts while donating heavily towards the breast unit campaign.

“Thank you to all involved particularly The Elms and their events manager Jo Goodchild for going the extra mile making the event so special.”
