Saturday 24th to Saturday 31st October - Twycross Zoo – Halloween Spooky times at the zoo.

Twycross Zoo’s ghost train is back by popular demand this October half term (Saturday, October 24 to Saturday, October 31). Ghosts, gremlins and ghouls will be haunting the train and scaring the passengers as it travels through the middle of the Zoo.
Watch the meerkats, bat-eared foxes, leopards and otters enjoy their enrichment in an unusual way. The animals will forage for the creepy crawlies that have been hidden in the bright orange jack-o-lanterns.
This is fun to watch, with lots of excitement for the animals that enjoy catching the creepy crawlies and other gruesome treats that are hidden inside.
Also come and join in the witch and wizard hat making activity in the Zoo Centre from Thursday, October 29 to Saturday, October 31. Cut out bats, rats and spiders and decorate your Halloween hat, which you can take home.

Widely reputed to be one of the most haunted buildings in the country, The Commandery in Worcester is opening its creaky doors throughout October for a special Ghost Festival.
During October there will be a whole host of spooky activities including a very special visitor tour with a difference.
Combining the fascinating turbulent history of the 12th century building with a selection of anecdotes of real paranormal experiences from the staff and visitors of The Commandery over the years, visitors will gain an unusual insight into this historic building.

Mr Bean was a successful Worcester merchant, and has a story to tell. With experts (from the WASP team based at Worcestershire Record Office) discover and identify some Medieval archaeology, decipher Mr Bean’s inventory and using a feather quill, create your own Medieval scroll! 10.30am -12.30pm. There will be many ghoulish goings-on at West Midland Safari Park which includes Spooky Animal Encounters in the classroom, under the supervision of our very own witches, who will no doubt cast their magic with a little help from their best friends the Hissing Cockroach, Giant Millipede and scariest of all the Emperor Scorpion!
During the event, Tree Tops pavilion will be the venue for Creative Capers, which hosts a collection of hands-on activity sessions to suit all budding artisans and those that enjoy creating a little ‘make believe’.
