GRITTERS have been sent out on a 'dry run' on gritting routes in preparation for the winter.
The practise run was to finalise any issues with the routes in terms of accessibility and to check the resilience of the gritting vehicles.
The vehicles will also be calibrated to ensure the correct spread of rock salt and that the spinners are working correctly.
Worcestershire County Council also has several new drivers this year and there have been some changes to the gritting routes to include additional sections of road in response to feedback from residents.
County Council officers are on standby monitoring weather forecasts and road temperatures ready for action when required.
