A POP concert and donations of unwanted jewellery can help fund life-saving breast cancer research says a breast cancer survivor.

A Mamma Mia dance party with the “ABBA-esque” tribute band will play on Friday, October 30 at 7.30pm at Sixways Stadium in Worcester.

Breast cancer survivor Karen Edwards is calling for volunteers to join the new Breakthrough Breast Cancer Group in the city, which aims to raise funds for life-saving research, campaigning and education work.

Ms Edwards said: “Nearly 46,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year but by fund-raising in the local community we can help make a real difference to women now and in the future.

"It would be great to hear from anyone who can help, whether by joining the group, making a donation or helping spread the word.”

The Worcester Group will start their fundraising effort by ‘BLING for Breakthrough’ – collecting unwanted gold and silver (those odd earrings and broken bits of chain).
