A GIRL band with plans of world domination are proving that they do not need Simon Cowell to make it big.

Belle Sorelle, whose members are studying at the Elgar School of Music in Deansway, Worcester, made it the last stages of ITV X Factor show, but failed to make the final cut.

The girls – sisters Gemma and Patsy Parr, aged 24 and 17, Hannah Smith, 24, and Bella Bennewith, 17 – have described their whirlwind reality show experience as incredible. And while they did not make it to the live finals of the X Factor – which attracts over 13 million viewers every week - they have already recorded their debut single.

They are also attending an Access to Music course, a music industry qualification that helped the likes of rapper Dizzie Rascal and singer James Morrison find fame.

“The whole reality show thing is a cliché, but it's so true,” said Patsy.

“It was all over so quickly. But we made some really good friends at Boot Camp. We were all in the same position so we bonded really quickly.”

During auditions the girls impressed pop star judge Cheryl Cole with their eye-catching clothes.

Hannah, who doubles up as the band's stylist, said it is an important part of the package.

“We want to be the next global girl band,” she said.

“We want our own TV show, a world tour, and a clothing range.”

“There's this stigma attached to girl bands who started out in their bedrooms,” said Gemma.

“But it's wrong. We want to show other girls that you can do if you work hard enough.”

Belle Sorelle's motto is “sister savvy”. There is an emphasis on being independent women who look out for each other, while having fun.

“It's fun, fierce and feisty,” said Gemma.

With thousands of fans on the social networking website Facebook and live gigs lined up, Belle Sorelle are looking forward to the future.

Next month the girls will turn on Malvern's Christmas lights. For more information about the band visit bellesorelle.co.uk.
